Latest generation of Red Rhino unveiled
The latest generation of the Light Fire Attack Vehicle, also known as the Red Rhino, was unveiled during the SCDF workplan seminar on 10 June 2022.
This is the sixth rendition of Singapore’s iconic firefighting vehicle since it was first introduced in 2000.
It includes new features such as:
Compressed air foam trolleys
The vehicle has two trolleys carrying 50 litres of compressed air foam in total. This is more than five times the 9 litres of foam that a firefighter carries in his backpack.
BA bracket quick release
This allows personnel to be fully equipped and are able to wear their BA air tanks whilst seated. This leads to faster response times as personnel do not have to don their equipment upon arriving on site and then attend to the emergency at hand.
